My involvement in gaming started with the explosion of the desktop simulation games in the early 1970's. I really enjoyed some of the classics like Panzerblitz and 1776 but I have always enjoyed history.
I was aware of the "White Box" release of Dungeons and Dragons but being a long time Science Fiction I gravitated to Traveler. Eventually I worked for companies in that industry both as an employee and a consultant. I was even fortunate enough to visit D&D co-creator Dave Arnison at his home in Manassas and visited Steve Jackson in him home in Austin.
Many of the mistakes that the tabletop designers and companies made are being made by the online gaming companies.
